THE OPPORTUNITY

A large asset manager had built a portfolio of approximately 80 highly complex loans representing $2.5 billion in unpaid principal balance. The firm also recently took on a portfolio from an equity funding partner with several defaulted loans. The company was using a large servicer which did not have the expertise to effectively manage such a complex loan portfolio. Additionally, the firm had also undergone a leadership change, and saw an opportunity to engage a more qualified, institutional-grade partner to elevate its servicing and asset management.
